DigiChompers Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026-04-19 Last Updated: 2026-04-19 App: DigiChompers (iOS + Android) Publisher: Johnson Digital LLC (California, USA) Contact: via https://digichompers.com/contact/ Mailing Address: Johnson Digital LLC, 9601 S Shaft Ave, Selma, CA 93662, USA
This policy is written to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), including the 2025 amendments to the COPPA Rule (16 CFR Part 312) with full compliance required by April 22, 2026, as well as Apple App Store Kids Category and Google Play Designed for Families requirements.
Plain-English Summary (read this first)
DigiChompers is built for kids ages 6-8. We take that seriously.
- We do not collect, receive, or transmit personal information about you or your child to our servers.
- Every piece of data the app creates (profiles, progress, scores, settings) is stored only on the device the app is installed on.
- There is no cloud sync, no account signup, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs in the app.
- A parent-chosen nickname used to label a kid's profile is stored locally on the device and never transmitted to our servers.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own systems and policies. We never see your payment information.
If that's all you need to know, you're done. The rest of this document is the formal version.
1. Who We Are
DigiChompers is published by Johnson Digital LLC, a California limited liability company. "We," "us," "our," or "the Publisher" refers to Johnson Digital LLC. "You" refers to the parent or legal guardian of the child who uses the app, or any adult who installs and uses the app.

We aim to respond to privacy requests within 7 business days.
2. This App Is Directed to Children Under 13
DigiChompers is submitted to the Apple App Store Kids Category under the 6–8 age band and the Google Play Designed for Families program under the Ages 6–8 age band. The design, content, and marketing of the app are directed at children in those age ranges.
Because of that, this app is subject to COPPA and the Apple/Google kids-program policies. We comply by the simplest possible method: we do not collect any personal information from children.
3. Purposes of Data Use
Because no data leaves the device, the only "purposes" for which any data is used are on-device app functionality:
- Saving a kid's profile, grade, avatar, and settings so the app remembers them between sessions.
- Adapting math problem difficulty on the fly based on the child's recent performance.
- Displaying high scores and recent activity to the parent via the Parent Zone.
- Remembering whether the optional one-time unlock has been purchased.
No data is used for any other purpose. No data is used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or sharing.
4. We Do NOT Disclose Data to Third Parties
We do not disclose any information for targeted advertising. We do not disclose any information to data brokers, analytics providers, or advertising networks. We do not disclose any information to any third party, other than as necessary for Apple or Google to process the optional in-app purchase (described in Section 7).
5. Information We Do NOT Collect
DigiChompers does NOT collect, use, transmit, sell, license, or share any of the following:
- First name, last name, or full name.
- Email address, phone number, physical address, or other contact information.
- Persistent identifiers: IDFA, Android Advertising ID, device ID, user ID, or any cookie-equivalent tracker.
- Biometric identifiers (fingerprints, voiceprints, face templates, iris patterns).
- Government-issued identifiers (state ID, Social Security number, passport).
- Geolocation data of any precision.
- Photographs, videos, or audio recordings.
- Voice data — the app uses the device's text-to-speech capabilities to read math problems aloud. DigiChompers does not record your child's voice and does not transmit any voice data.
- Contacts, photo library, microphone, or camera access. The app does not request permission for any of these.
- Information from third-party social networks.
- Web browsing history or cross-app activity.
- Behavioral advertising profiles.
- Any information inferred from the above.
We do not use cookies, web beacons, SDK-based behavioral tracking, or any similar passive collection technology. The app does not make outbound network requests of any kind except the Apple StoreKit or Google Play Billing call required to process the optional one-time unlock purchase.
6. Information Stored Only On Your Device
The app creates and stores the following data locally on the device, using the operating system's protected application storage. This data never leaves the device.
- Profile data: Parent-chosen nickname, selected grade level, chosen avatar, schema version.
- Gameplay progress: Rolling 10-problem performance window per profile per math skill, used by the on-device adaptive difficulty engine.
- Activity log: The last 30 days of play sessions (start time, end time, problems answered, accuracy). Older entries are automatically deleted.
- High scores: Top-5 per profile per grade per mode.
- Settings: Music volume, SFX volume, mute, Chompers on/off, chosen TTS voice, daily time limit, parent-zone PIN.
- Parent-zone PIN: Hashed and stored using the operating system's protected storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences). Never transmitted.
- Purchase entitlement: A boolean flag and timestamp indicating whether the one-time unlock has been purchased, re-verified against the App Store or Google Play receipt on each launch.
- Legacy scores archive: Read-only high scores from before the adaptive-difficulty engine launched.
The Parent Zone lets a parent view, reset, or permanently delete all of the above per profile or app-wide.
7. In-App Purchases
DigiChompers offers one optional in-app purchase:
- Product: Unlock Grades 2–6 + Parent Zone
- Price: $4.99 USD (one-time, non-consumable)
- Identifier: com.johnsondigi.digichomps.unlock
- Effect: Unlocks grades 2–6 and the full Parent Zone. K–1 grade and its modes remain free forever.
The purchase is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) on iOS or Google (Google Play Billing) on Android. DigiChompers never sees your credit card number, Apple ID, Google account, billing address, or any other payment information. We only receive a store-issued receipt confirming the purchase.
Apple's and Google's privacy practices for processing the purchase are governed by their own policies:
- Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google directly.
8. Data Retention Policy
All data created by DigiChompers is stored locally on the device and retained only as long as necessary for the app's core features (profile management, adaptive difficulty, activity history, high scores, and purchase entitlement).
- Activity logs are automatically pruned after 30 days.
- All other data is deleted immediately upon profile deletion (Parent Zone → Per-Profile Settings → Delete Selected), app-wide reset (Parent Zone → Reset All Scores), full device-data erase (Parent Zone → COPPA → Delete All Device Data), or app uninstall.
- No data is retained indefinitely.
- No remote copies exist because no data is ever transmitted off the device.
This policy is maintained in writing and reviewed before each major app release.
9. Information Security Program
Johnson Digital LLC maintains a written children's information security program appropriate to our size and the on-device-only nature of the data handled. The program includes:
- Reliance on the Apple iOS and Google Android operating system application sandbox, which isolates each app's data from every other app.
- Use of OS-level protected storage and encryption (FileVault / Android Full-Disk Encryption) when the device is locked with a passcode.
- Hashing of the Parent Zone PIN and storage in the OS secure keystore (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
- Code-signing on every app release published to the App Store and Google Play.
- No debug logging of user-entered content (profile names, PIN) in release builds.
- Review and update of this program before each major app release.
No system is perfectly secure, but by design there is no remote data store we operate for an attacker to target.
10. Parental Rights — COPPA Compliance
Because this app is directed to children, COPPA gives parents specific rights:
- No collection = no verified consent transaction required. Because DigiChompers does not collect personal information from children, Verifiable Parental Consent under COPPA § 312.5 is not triggered for child data. The parental purchase of the optional unlock through Apple or Google serves as the FTC-recognized payment-method verification for that transaction.
- Right to review. Parents can view every piece of data the app has created for their child via the in-app Parent Zone (PIN-gated). Because no data is transmitted to us, there is no remote copy to request.
- Right to delete. Parents can permanently delete any profile and its data via Parent Zone → Per-Profile Settings → Delete Selected, wipe all gameplay scores via Parent Zone → Reset All Scores, or perform a complete COPPA-grade erase of every piece of app-stored data (profiles, scores, settings, activity logs) via Parent Zone → COPPA → Delete All Device Data. Uninstalling the app also removes app data from the device, although platform-level backup or restore features controlled by Apple or Google (such as iCloud Backup or Android Auto Backup, if enabled by the user) may preserve app data until those backups are cleared by the user through the operating system.
- Right to refuse further use. Parents can uninstall the app at any time. Parents who purchased the unlock may request a refund through Apple or Google.
- Right to contact us. Email via https://digichompers.com/contact/ with subject "DigiChompers Privacy Request."
If a parent believes the app has somehow collected information about a child in violation of this policy, contact us immediately and we will investigate and remediate.
11. Parent Direct Notice
The first time a parent opens the Parent Zone, DigiChompers displays a short plain-language Direct Notice screen summarizing this Privacy Policy for the parent:
"DigiChompers is a kids' app. We do not collect any information about your child. All game data — profiles, scores, progress — is saved only on this device and never sent anywhere."
The screen is acknowledged by tapping "I Understand." A link within it opens this Privacy Policy. The screen is shown to parents rather than to children by design — COPPA Direct Notice is addressed to the parent, and the PIN-gated Parent Zone is the app's natural parent-only surface.
12. California Residents
California residents may have rights under applicable California privacy law. Because DigiChompers does not collect, receive, or store personal information about you or your child on our servers, there is generally no remote personal data for us to disclose, correct, delete, or stop selling — because there is none, and we do not sell or share data in the first place.
California parents may still contact us at via https://digichompers.com/contact/ to confirm we hold no data about your child, and we will respond in writing promptly.
13. International Users
DigiChompers is published from the United States. If you download the app from outside the U.S., the no-collection posture applies equally — no data about you or your child is transmitted to any server, regardless of your location. Any locally stored data stays on your device in your country and is governed by your device's normal operating-system security model.
EU / UK families: because no personal data is collected or processed by us, the GDPR and UK GDPR rights to access, rectify, erase, port, restrict, or object have no data to act on. Children in these regions receive the same on-device-only treatment as children in the United States.
14. Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. If the change is material (for example, if we ever begin to collect any data), we will prompt each user in-app to re-acknowledge the updated policy before continuing.
We will never reduce your privacy protection below what this version guarantees without an affirmative, in-app, dated parental confirmation.
